Emily Tomlinson, PT, DPT, OCS
As a physical therapist, I have seen the effects of repetitive stresses from sports on the bodies of young athletes and have found that strengthening, conditioning and cross training can be effective in preventing future injuries. As a mom to a girl, I see the positive effect of growing self confidence as girls are engaged in athletics and exercise. My goal for Fit Girl KC is to foster girls confidence while providing a good foundation to encourage exercise throughout their lifespan.
I have worked in the KC area as an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist since 2006. I am an adjunct instructor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Rockhurst University and also work in outpatient rehab at an orthopedic hospital. Recently, I established a concierge style PT practice, Balance Physical Therapy and Wellness.
